You open a USD wallet, link one or more beneficiaries in Ghana (parent, sibling, child, household member, community member), and top it up by card, bank, or wire. Consults and other items booked by your beneficiary are paid from the wallet at the published policy price; each conversion shows the rate that applied so you can check it.
What does a sponsored consult cost?
Indicative base prices on the diaspora-US cell: General Practice (Video) ≈ USD 18.00; Pediatrics (Video) ≈ USD 24.00; ObGyn (Video) ≈ USD 28.00. Each service has a hard maximum out-of-pocket for the patient, and every charge is verifiable through the public receipt checker.
Are my funds safe? What happens if I close the wallet?
Yes. Your wallet rules spell out refunds on closure (your money stays yours), sharing funds between beneficiaries, and transfer on death. The balance lives on an ordered ledger where every move is logged—we cannot shift money without leaving a matching record.
Can my beneficiary see what was charged?
Yes. Every consult comes with a printable receipt that shows the full line-by-line breakdown and a public link anyone can use to verify it. You and your beneficiary see the same numbers — no hidden fees.
What payment methods do you accept?
Pay securely with your card. Your wallet currency is set when you sign up, and any cross-currency activity is recorded with a clear exchange-rate note — never swapped in the dark.
How is the FX rate set?
Daily FX rates sit next to each transaction date. If we adjust a historical rate later, we add a new dated row—we never erase the old figure. Rates stay visible next to charges and receipts.
Can the wallet pay for prescriptions and labs, not just consults?
Yes. When a sponsored consult is issued, the care plan can open typical next steps (for example a prescription, lab, or follow-up) — the partner confirms and fulfils; the wallet pays each approved line. Your beneficiary sees every line before they confirm.
